About the Role:
We are seeking professional freelance interpreters for various languages to provide in-person and online language support for clients in the Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland areas. This is an exciting opportunity to work in various settings, including medical, educational, community, and social services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site and remote interpretation services for clients in various sectors, including medical, educational, community and social services.

• Ensure accurate and culturally sensitive communication between clients and service providers.

• Adapt to different settings, including clinics, schools, community centers, social services, and private meetings

Requirements:

• Valid U.S. work authorization.

• Reside within the Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, or Maryland area.

• Willingness to travel to client locations within the designated service areas.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Completed a 40-hour Medical Interpreter Training Course.

• Successful completion of an Oral Language Proficiency Test in both English and the target language(s).

• Proficiency in English and one or more of the following languages.

  Dari, Persian, Pashto, Arabic, Ukrainian, Spanish, Bengali, and Urdu.

Additional Information:

• This is a freelance opportunity—not a full-time or part-time position. Workload and hours will be determined by client needs, offering you the flexibility to choose when and how much you work.

• Location: Must be based in the D.C., Northern Virginia, or Maryland area and able to travel to client sites.
